Tell us all about you and your organization!
My organization is called "blowing the whistle" and is a play on the words "whistle-blower" which is somebody that goes against a big corporation or government and exposes them, which ties into our mission. Our mission is student-led and is to expose the realities of people around the world facing global issues that are not shown to the common people or in mainstream media and those who are suffering, most of the time, don't have a voice to tell the world they need help. This is my own creative way of helping out since I can't donate tons of money or travel to the places myself.
Why do you think it’s important for your generation to let their voices be heard?
I think it is very important for my generation to help these people be heard because we are the generation born into technology, opportunities, and knowledge. We are the generation that can make the change because we have the tools, passion, and motivation. And we are the future, these issues and problems that we are facing right now are going to affect us in the future, while our previous generations may not even be alive anymore.
Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future?
I'm optimistic about the future, as my organization has just recently started and we are just now starting to see the impact that we can have on other people. Even if what we are doing doesn't seem big or helpful, our organization is making change in small steps and we are doing our part.
What are the most important issues facing our world right now? And in the future?
I would say the most important issues we are facing right now, besides covid-19 and the racial turmoil, is disinformation and fake news. The world is divided right now and it is crucial that people know what's exactly happening without bias or third parties interfering. For example, lets say you see a post or a news story saying something too bad or too good to be true, you immediately get emotional, either happiness, anger, or sadness and then people make irrational decisions based on their emotions such as donating to scams or supporting something they don't have complete knowledge of or the facts. In the future, we could face any type of problems because who knows what might happen but I think our problems will be about crossing the line of reality and fiction, such as with robots or genetic engineering.
What does your organization offer that helps the world be a better place?
We offer information, programs, and opportunities. Our goal is to fight the disinformation and give the people capable of helping the facts, we also offer programs in which those interested in media, socio-economic/political, and marketing to be in research programs and other things (coming soon). Also, in the future we will be having executive/ambassador positions available for people to help out in this organization. *any work done for us can be converted to service hours or volunteer work*
Will you be voting in the next election, or will you once you are eligible to vote?
Unfortunately, I will not be voting in the next election because I will not be old enough but I do encourage everyone else who can, to vote and make your voice heard!

At blowing the whistle, we have these things called "initiatives" where for a couple of weeks we focus on one particular global issue and give you all the right facts and information needed so you can help out or donate, we are about to start our first initiative on "Countries who won't survive Covid-19". We also do community work and to give back to the people and to help the underprivileged, DM us or email for more info.
